I've known of a lot of people shaving their cats to keep them cool in the summer. My friend shaved her cat and left spikes along her back so she looked like a dinosaur. If anyone thinks Colleen's off her rocker, just picture my friend's Dino-Cat. Still kinda messed up she's having people vote on it. |

Oh yeah, lots of people shave their cats and dogs to help them keep cool. It's the asking the minions whether she should shave him like a lion that I have the problem with. If it makes him more comfortable shave him all over, don't leave a mane; you just know it's only for views that she's even considering it.

We had to shave part of my cats because he hated being brushed and we couldn't help him with his mats in his fur otherwise. We used to just cut them, but this was too close to his body.

This woman thinks her cat 'misses California' and is excited to get on a plane because he 'knows he's going home'. She's clearly living in some bizaar fantasy world. I hope to hell she doesnt shave the cat herself. I've been grooming my dog for 12 years and it still stresses me out. No way I'd attempt to shave one of my cats. I'd get shredded to pieces and the kitty would probably end up hurt too, their skin is so thin and pliant and wrinkly.

I've known people who have clippered, might be a better word, their long haired cats. Definitely not close shaved them down to the skin but they didn't like being brushed so they had them clippered professionally. Same with dogs but they were generally outdoor animals and it was a stinking hot Aussie Summer. I really can't see from that pic she posted of the cat that he looks miserable. He's laying on his back, which according to her, he spends most of his time doing anyway because he's "so weird".
