I think I've been spending too much time gossiping about Colon. Today's my "24 hours of Facebook notifications" day (otherwise known as birthday. haha) and a girl I know posted a minion holding a cupcake on my timeline to wish me a happy b-day. My heart stopped for a second because I was trying to figure out how one of colon's minions is friends with me on Facebook. haha! I have a really hard time believing that she even knows who Colon is but it was the very first thing I thought of. It made me feel insane for a hot second and I thought I'd share with the only people who would understand.

Today was actually a really decent day, despite my coworker not showing up again (not the same coworker as yesterday, but still. There were supposed to be two of us and I was the only one who actually showed up.) When I first started working, everything seemed overwhelming and like I had so much to learn and like I was never going to be good at my job. But, after opening the bakery by myself two days in a row and getting a compliment on how well I was doing at work from my general manager today, I'm actually starting to feel like I'm getting the hang of my job and it's just a really good feeling. (Also, I have my first day off this week tomorrow and I'm soooo excited to get to sleep in.)

I'm away from home for a couple of days and really missing my dose of snark! Husband kindly took the kids to the pool and gave me some time to myself this morning! ☕️📱❤️😂

I haven't been spending as much time in the Garden as usual because of work, but I just came here to tell all my fellow grannies (and whatever we consider good ol' ackack ) how much I appreciate you all and the community that this site has built. ❤️ I know that sounds sappy, but everyone on this site truly does seem to care about one another and shows support and encouragement as well as lending a helping hand or a listening ear to anyone on here who may need it and that really is amazing. I never expected or imagined I'd find that when I joined this site (I just knew this was where all the Colleen gossip moved), but I'm extremely thankful for it. (Also, I know this seems like a really random post, but I'm connected with several of you on Twitter who have kept up with me on there while I've been away from the Garden and it's made me feel really cared for and I just wanted to say thank you.)

"We" consider me the Alpha. I like to think we've got each others backs in times of need no matter how far apart we are. If one person can make someone feel better from thousands of miles away I'd say that is pretty special. This site is very special to me for various reasons.

I didn't even know this part of the board existed. I was wondering where a few posters went? Joe Walsh lover is one, and now I can't remember the other two. I also have a question. Do I piss people off here? Have I said something that's made anyone mad or uncomfortable, because no one ever likes my posts. I don't care if people like my posts, I just want to explain anything I might have said that's made anyone mad or upset. I feel that because of my age, I don't word things right and it gives people the wrong idea.

You haven't upset me. Half the time when I'm reading a heap of posts I'm whizzing through them and forget to push the like button, get to the end and can't be bothered to go back. Senility is a real thing for me, or menopause brain as opposed to baby brain. Here's a like for you.

Not at all! if smash or i felt you were making people uncomfortable or were OTT, we'd message you privately and give you a polite little heads up. I honestly think it's just people at this stage are only reacting to very strong opinions on the thread, plus people are fading in and out, new people are coming on etc. I personally am pretty lazy with the likes compared to what i used to be. I also don't get that many either. I'm sorry you feel like that though I don't think anyone intends on excluding anyone! Also i'm not sure where JWG is, she's been pretty quiet lately. She seems like she doesn't add anything unless it's important though

Thanks Yograndma and Tusk. I do worry because I'm older, and I think I brought this up in a post, but I'm not good at using politically correct words. I didn't even know what AAVE (African American Vernacular English) was when someone posted about it. I had to google AAVE and I found out in my day that was AAVE was called Ebonics, and it's not nice to call the language Ebonics anymore. I remember some states wanted Ebonics taught in school, but that was a million years ago.

I think my kids are wondering why I know all the latest vernacular nowadays.

I'd hope most people are like that on here. (And they are from what I've noticed) if I don't like something it's usually because I have to catch up on posts and I'm just scrolling. I used to like things a lot more. But I think you're a great member of this site! I look for certain names sometimes (like Tusk said with people floating in and out) there are a few names I trust and know aren't infiltrators or something and you're one of them!

My husband is almost 49, so he is always asking me what certain words mean now days. I tried my best to explain "mansplain" was when he asked. I had an idea what it was, but I still checked google to make sure I got it right.
