Oh that's true, she can be as frugal as she wants with her own expenses, but it can't be cheap supporting the entire Ballinger bunch. Once the hefty checks stop rolling in, money will get real tight real quick. Let's not forget that she also supports Kory full time, and I'm sure she does or will owe Josh a certain amount of money in their divorce settlement. That well may very well start drying up sooner than later. I wonder if she'd sooner run her bank account dry just to appease her family, or cut them off at the source and tell them to go get their own jobs. Off topic but NO ONE seems very interested in season 2. Not even Colleen, despite her attempts to make it seem like she LOVES it so much. Last year all she did was promote the show and the cast and give teasers. This year it seems more like everyone is just over it. I have really gotten that vibe from her as well. She talks like it's so amazing, but she lacks a genuine enthusiasm behind it. If you thought you had a good show, you would have high hopes for season three. She's already talking about not getting a season three. Glad you have faith in your own work, Colleen.

I thought I heard or read some where that real tears come from the corners of your eyes. And that fake tears in movies and tv always come from the middle because they are flooded with artificial tears. Anyone else ever hear that? Anyways, Colleen's tears in her vlog were oddly coming from the middle of her lower lid. It looked very unnatural.

One of my eyes almost always sheds tears from the centre of the lid while the other (which is a different shape due to my astigmatism) sheds from the corners. It is an interesting thought though. Some people are very good at faking or forcing tears, so it is a possibility.

I was intrigued by some of the comments about Colleen's vlog, so I went to her YouTube channel to watch it. But I took one look at the thumbnail and thought, "Nope. Nah. That's okay." and closed the browser tab.

She was talking about it possibly not getting a second season before the first one came out too though. I think she wants people to think she Soooooo grateful, and not greedy, and thats she's put together, but it's all a front I think. She's nervous and a bit spoiled and entitled.

I'm sorry but Colleen has done all of this before and it's utter bullshit. She just goes through the same cycles and never grows or changes as a person. We've all seen her fake blubber to the camera that she's losing views and she wants to do better and she's just stressed and tired and lonely but don't get her wrong cause she's SO SO grateful and HAPPY and everything is WONDERFUL and PERFECT and she's living her DREAM GUUURRRLLLL. Every time nothing changes and she keeps doing the same shit.
Oh and the fact that the vlog cut to her already having tears in her eyes and they were coming from the center and kind of just sitting there like she dabbed her eyes with water...sus.
I just think she is the fakest of fake and I don't feel sorry for her. Try to better yourself and grow as an entertainer and maybe I'll start to like you again.

alright, i think I've just clicked onto the big change in the Ballinger vlogs.
Before it used to be the kids kinda being kids, we'd see them play, we'd get small updates thoughout their day and that would be that.
Suddenly it's the Chris Ballinger show. He needs to explain every little action to everyone, force the kids to interact with the camera when they don't want to, make constant jokes etc. It's like he's trying to get more attention from it. Any kind of authenticity is gone, from both the parents and the kids.

He had no experience, but was suddenly a writer/exec producer. I've said this here, before -- he doesn't have the life experience to write characters or the experience to be on another series. So where does that leave him? Their YouTube channel -- the desperation is real, folks. He's not likely to go back to being a musician and he's not going to be brought onto another series (at least one that doesn't involve the fading Miranda/Colleen). I agree that by "editing" she's sharing an office space with the actual editor and that it is no way contractual (unless she herself made it a requirement). Clearly their (Colleen's and Chris') arrogance and self confidence doomed HBO, which was in desperate need of the guidance of professionals. I think the second season will be the last unless they've really integrated some very necessary elements; it doesn't seem likely though. Colleen doesn't understand the concept of a "best friend." I think she's very lucky she's able to share her success with her family and friends and have them join her on trips -- it seems like that's why Jessica and Chris are ensuring everyone has their passports. I ALSO get the sense that they may be testing the water to see if they should be holding meet-and-greets in those European, etc. locations. She really shouldn't have them in her show (and I say this as someone who has seen her shows; the stage is packed and it's like a "let's put on a show" which is ultimately very disrespectful to audience/fans who pay so much money to see a real show). I'm not sure what J/C and family will do in regards to "performance." That said, did anyone go to Rachel's show or read any reviews of it? What did she do??

What did she do?? l Truth be told, HBO could have been a fantastic show. It could have either appealed to teens OR adults, however instead of getting a quality show consistent of what Miranda is all about, we got this weird mix of something that didn't feel like Miranda, nor did it feel like something for teens. But BECAUSE of the characters, it didn't appeal to adults either. I think this is due to Colleen and Chris not letting go of the reigns. Neither of them actually know their teen demographic, they don't know how to write shows, neither of them are comedians so all this "it's funny" hype was totally wrong. It's dark, it's humourless, it's soulless and there are no redeeming characters. Not even her sister. I think that Colleen's lack of enthusiasm for this season isn't because she hates the show, but because Netflix cracked the whip and took away some of her "creative" freedom. I imagine she was somewhat like the kid who talked too much in school. She bothered the directors, the camera men and anyone she could chat to. This season it's a revolving door of people she can't be "omg bffs" with. I think her cast also felt it too. I'd love to know why she was so pushed aside this season by her cast. Fran never hangs with her (she was in canada for a good while after and was hanging out with Veronica from riverdale), Angela is awol, so is steve little. What did she do to make EVERYONE so disinterested in promoting HBO?

Im going to say this, but please remember I'm 43 and may not use politically correct words so I'm sorry if this offends anyone. I can't stand that Colleen talks like a gay man. If I have to hear "gurl" or "hunty" one more time I think I'll pull my hair out. I feel like she just uses these words to be trendy. There is a predominantly African American hair salon that I get my hair done at. If I walked in there and was like "Hey brother, my skin is ashy as hell" I think my stylist would slap me, and rightfully so. I'm the same as you, age as well. I cannot abide the camp/gay voices she puts on. She's like a fucking child trying to be cool.

I seem to remember Chris working on the tv show Bones back in the day so I just googled it- he was 'assistant to executive producers'. He may have picked up a little of what they were doing to put into HBO but I think mainly he was getting coffees. He got laid off from Bones sometime around the writers strike and then went into the making magic tricks gig at Magic Geek (I think that's what it was called). Then he was laid off from that and put all his effort into youtube. The fact that he was fired from 2 consecutive jobs in a row probably wasn't helping him find future work and after seeing Colleen was making money thought he could do it too. Plus Colleen gave him immediate views because she was telling all her followers to follow her family. Like the rest of you, I see that Chris has changed a lot since Duncan was born. His relationship with Jess seems to be strained and feels very forced in front of the camera and the way he's treating the kids is very telling that their relationship is falling apart as well. It was interesting to see Bailey stand up for herself in regards to the fishing trip. I don't think we've ever seen Bailey like that, she was almost angry and i'm amazed Chris left it in the vlog...

I just have a few things to say. So first of all, I watched clips of 2 Ballinger vlogs (the bonnet one and the universal studios (?) one) and could tell Bailey's demeanor around Chris is so weird. She seems like a sweet kid but why WHY does she act like she is years younger? I know she's a smart girl and sure shes quirky but to me it seems like C&J are encouraging her to act younger and thus "cuter" (whether they are straight up telling her what to do or she is picking up on this subconsciously idk). Just super strange and forced interactions from everyone in that family. Super cringe and weird. Someone mentioned Jessica sucks at vlogging-amen!! But also I think Chris sucks at it too. In reference to the divorce, Colleen did say before they were married and Josh was on tour with that boy group, that she "couldn't wait" to be married bc that meant that they would have more time together. I specifically remember this bc I was so surprised when she started touring right after Josh quit his tour and then she kept leaving after they were married. Just another example of how her lies have caused her trouble.
Edit: I'm not good at finding videos but the one where Colleen says that is when they were in the apartment and I'm pretty sure she was sitting on the brown couch when she said it. Ok some of you super sleuths might be able to find it lol

You're right about the Chris Ballinger show. He is all about his jarring, weird transitions. He inserts himself in their playtime... for footage not love, memories, or fun. I don't think Jess and Donkey were even in the last 2? vlogs
I agree w everyone about Colleen and the show and cast. They all bailed. I used to hear the expression like rats leaving the ship. I didn't know what that really meant until I saw Titanic and the rats literally running. Probably closer to when HBO comes out, the cast will be contractually obligated to promote that pile. It will be interesting to see how gooey they all are with each other.
Someone said Colleen has no idea what a best friend is. So true. Her best friends are situational. Heather is her best friend now because she is going to NYC and so are the Beverly Bombshells.
Kory is her "best friend" but she has to pay him to stay with her, so there's that.

I also hope Colleen never EVER goes back to normal eyebrows. All I see in her videos are her eyebrows and they are just so freaking bizarre and creepy. They make her face look ugly. I don't know why she does that. But Rachel and Jessa the Hut do it too.
Seems like Chris and Jess can't decide if Bailey is 3....wearing a baby swim bonnet... or 30, wearing a face full of grown up makeup to the 4th of July celebration.
I also loved how Bailey stuck up for herself in the car. She is going to be a beautiful young woman and I hope she recovers from her intrusive, scripted childhood on display.

Is it weird that with her latest vlog I feel like I've already seen it...I swear she's made this exact vlog like 10 times with the shallow grateful speech and crocodile tears while trying to humbly brag how hard she works. Ugh.
Also she 100% reads here. No one gives her hate anywhere so idk what other amounts of hate are consuming her time because all I see is brainwashed kids on her social medias.

Kory is her "best friend" but she has to pay him to stay with her, so there's that. "Gay best friend"* fixed that for ya, you forgot to mention he's gay. Colgate seems to think it's important.

Colleen will never create great content if she's always in an echo chamber of her minions who will constantly tell her she's wonderful and amazing no matter what crap she turns out. Her content, hell, her entire life could be so much better if she'd listen to the genuine concern and constructive criticism that she automatically labels as "hate"

I'm getting the vibe that Colleen may want HBO to end. Similar to how she talks about how happy (depressed, overall miserable) she is, it's the same with HBO. She 'loves her job so much' and 'she's so lucky' and 'emmy'.
I was a fan for so long, right up until the divorce, vlogs by herself in NYC fan. It's so disheartening to see that her true colors are less than tolerable.
On the flip side, I'm glad to not be blind like some of her younger fans--every little thing now has me rolling my eyes.

Shame. OMGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG. You know,we sit online, gossiping, making wild speculations and bouncing around theories because we are humans and are curious and process people and life. THIS JUST SHOWS HOW RIGHT WE ARE ABOUT THE BALLINGER FAMILY. This freaks me out so much. Those poor kids. Interesting that it was Jessa the Hut (no guilt now making fun of her name) tweaking the circus monkey. Your mom is supposed to be protecting you from harm, not creating it. What creeps me out is how Jess and Chris pretend,on their videos, that their kids' behavior and reactions are all organic and sweet and sooo cute and Jess cackles her stupid cackle. Now we know they are coached and made to "work." Also, ummmmm, who in their right mind thinks putting that in the video was funny or cute? Answer: their parental minds aren't right. AND, i'm not on YouTube, don't own a camera like that, hate my picture anywhere online, but even I know IF YOU INCLUDE IT IN THE VIDEO, IT ISN'T EDITED OUT. Assholes.

They really are just circus monkeys. #SaveBailey It must be so depressing to be one of those kids. I can imagine they're constantly being directed in everything they do. I think Chris fancies himself as a director so takes his frustrations out on his kids. This vlog shows that Jessica is definitely on the same page as Chris when it comes to manipulating their kids for views. Chris probably left this in when he edited because he thought it was cute showing a grumpy Bailey, not realising that it actually showed that nothing is spontaneous or natural and the kids have to keep going until Mum or Dad are satisfied with their performance. Chris is probably pissed off that he didn't manage to score a gig as one of the directors on HBO 2 (damn you Jessica and your fertile loins!). It's your fault you couldn't be up in Canada hanging with the cool kids, Chris. You should have kept it in your pants and not given in to the charms of the milky, seductress that is Jessica. Speaking of all things sexual, does Rachel know what "I ...... let Blaze have his way with me!" actually means? (pinned tweet on her Twitter) That's a weird inference. I know she's not serious but YUCK. And she's worried about Wikifeet. Edit: Sorry Ihateukuleles, I've just read your post and realised mine's almost identical. Great minds think alike, they say.
