I wish I could talk to him and convince him to 'fake it till he makes it'. I know he'd probably not feel right about being disingenuous... But I think it would help him in many ways.. It would give him something to occupy his time/energy on. And he could actually have fun. And then there is the bonus of it would piss Colonblow off so badly. I agree with everyone who said that he should either tell everyone everything or keep quiet about it. Yesterday he probably told us twenty percent of what went down and he got so much undeserved hate. I just hope he chooses to keep quiet about this. He knows he's in the right. I think the whole thing is fucked up from the very roots of it by the fact that their entire story has been broadcast to the public since day 1, and they’ve hardly kept anything for themselves, apart from the ‘hard parts’, which people like us could see inbetween the lines, but many others couldn’t.

When you put your entire love life out there, nit-picking the best parts and tailoring everything so that it seems the perfect fairy tale, it shouldn’t come at a surprise when a bunch of immature twats start dictating what you should or shouldn’t do, and judging you on every little thing you say or share.

I really think that the only solution for Josh to come out of this huge train wreck that Callus has caused (but never took real responsibility for) is to cut social media right in the bud, and steer towards something else. I would just leave LA, find myself totally different job in entertainment, if that’s what he wants to do, or anything else like something in the music industry or in video editing or something like that, and just freeze everything on Youtube and Twitter and the entire hate factory that Callin is encouraging and fostering. Create new accounts and making them private, and maybe just posting music videos or something, if even those.

That would be the healthiest thing he could do at this point, because now no matter what he does, he’ll receive more and more hate and humiliation: if he speaks, he’s going to be submerged by threats and abuse, and if he continues with the vlogs without mentioning anything about his pain, he’ll feel unhappy for not being authentic and real as he wants to be.

Josh: move to NYC, find a nice stable interesting job that suits you, and start from scratch. You can do it buddy. Let that shrew burn in her own hellhole she created for herself and her wacko family.

This is the truth I believe. At his heart Josh is a simple, old-fashioned-love sort of guy. To him marriage is a bond that links you with your partner forever. You are equals who have agreed to share your life together, through both the good and the bad times.

He quickly realised that she didn't see it that way. I'm sure there was betrayal, but I think it was emotional betrayal more than physical. And that can be just as bad, especially when the person you loved's real self is not what you believed it to be. I'm sure, to him, that being willing to sacrifice their relationship for career was a deal breaker. I'm also sure that to her it's selfish to expect the other person to sacrifice career. I can definitely see fights happening because of this, but also both sides feeling that they are in the right. At the end of the day I think it all just showed how incompatible they were going to be as a married couple. That would justify the "divorce had to happen" comments from Chris and Rachael.

I'm sure Josh was surpised that the nuclear divorce option was taken so quickly, but then again it wasn't going to work then sometimes it's best that someone decides to end it. Unfortunately for him it's against his will. But life sucks from time to time.

I'm sure the most hurtful thing is how each side has dealt with it. To be completely ignored by Colleen is probably the worst thing she could do. And with both having primarily young teen and preteen fans who think it's ok to comment on the situation directly to both of them it's a million times worse.

For his own sanity I think Josh needs to go quiet on his social media presence for a while and do something else. That's horrible because it'll feel like Colleen has taken everything from him, but I think she has the upper hand unfortunately. Her minions are relentless, in a way staying (mostly) silent on the divorce means she's less open to criticism, at least from her fanbase, and she has other avenues besides YouTube to make some money and keep her busy. So he needs to either get out and find something else, or else stick with YouTube and just shut up about the whole thing from now on. I don't think talking about it any more is going to be of any benefit other than getting some views from those who like the drama, or making us happy for finding out all the gossip! But it certainly won't do his mental health or happiness any good.

God damn her, now I'm angry at the whole thing!!!!!!

A few months ago when I first found GB for a second I thought it was really nasty... then I was reading comments, found myself laughing out loud at some really sound observations and actually agreeing with a lot more than I thought. I always thought there was something off and nasty about her - that video where she told people just to 'get over' bullying shocked me and I I thought that was disgusting advice for young people, so it was great to see I wasn't alone in my opinions.

This may seem really minor... but here's the reason I find 'spread happiness' to be a stupid slogan. Happiness is an emotion. Emotions generally happen TO you - no one particularly wants to feel sad or angry or down, but sometimes that's just how you feel. And you shouldn't feel bad about it. Yes we all want to feel happy but it's ok if you don't feel that way. It's ok to be authentic and real and be yourself. I totally get Josh's message of being nice to people and if she said spread KINDNESS I'd get it, but encouraging people to pretend they're happy all the time, or suggesting people are a problem if they're not always happy is a bad message. What about people with depression or anxiety? It's not their fault they're not happy. And from reading a lot of her fans comments, many of them suffer from these conditions. Her mantra of 'spread happiness' is telling them that it's not ok they're not happy. At least that's how I feel. It makes me mad because I've suffered in the past and you already feel guilty in yourself that you're bringing people down or whatever. You don't need someone else rubbing it in.

Anyway... my thoughts for now

I think there is a lot more that went on especially since if there wasn't I think Ms. Spread Happiness would have defended herself right now. Her only responses have been that she "doesn't want to hurt the other party", which suspiciously Josh kind of said the same in his last vlog too. I think she did something horrible and doesn't want to talk about it because she doesn't want her image ruined.

I tell you what tho the divorce can out right before her premiere of HBO thus giving it more traction. If she going to attempt to do the same again? Possibly revealing a relationship? If I was to bet I still think she didn't cheat physically before the split. I do think there was plenty of emotional betrayal behind his back. There were texts or messages that he found, I'm sure of it. That in addition to how she just seemed to move on almost immediately after leaving him is the real kick in the balls. She's probably seeing someone else to, probably Erik. I've been in that situation and the sadness and anger is all consuming. I really feel for him. But he's not handling it well and being a YouTuber is probably the worst place to be in that situation.

But fuck those kids though. I think he needs to either apologise and say nothing (like he seems to want to do based on the last video), or give them all a healthy dose of shut the fuck up, tell all the details, burn any remaining bridges with the Ballingers and deal with any fallout. It's one or the other and I know which one I'd do.
