Yes! I am so ready for this! I am just now being allowed to use makeup so I'm looking forward to getting some of yalls tips and stuff!! Since you're so young. Find a good moisturizer! If your skin is clear, don't bother with foundation. If you want to get foundation, go to a place like Sephora and ulta where you can swatch it. Once you find one that matches your skin you can look for a drugstore dupe for that color if it's too expensive. Right now you can get a $10 beauty blender if you sign up with a new account on the home shopping network site by using the coupon code: NEWTOOHSN for $10 off. Sign up for sephora and ulta rewards so you can get a free birthday month gift, and whenever you shop there (best time for deals is around the holidays) you get points as well.

I second avoiding foundation if you can! enjoy not having to do that step while you can, your skin will thank you! I started off by buying and getting used to simple stuff, if you can find a 4 pallet eye shadow with some colours you like (i went neutral), you can play around with it and learn how to blend shadows etc together. Also youtube is your friend! I watch Tati a lot because I find her relaxing and she usually shows each step and talks through it so you can see how it's done. Safiya Nygaard is great in general and is a lot more realistic with her makeup and general vids. I wish i had someone normal like her to look to when i was a teen!

Another vote for no foundation. I actually don't use it anymore (I'm 31) as it really clogs up my skin. If anything I would use mineral foundation rather than liquid. I'm a minimalist though and never really been into makeup. Just some mascara and lippie and good to go! If I'm going out at night, I'll put more on like eyeshadow and eyeliner. I have sensitive skin so tend to just use moisturiser with sunscreen then put make up on.

Also agree on the no foundation... but if you do need to wear it - I agree with Sammierae, DEFINITELY go to a place that allows you to swatch like Sephora or Ulta and I would have someone there help you match your skin tone. I might suggest tinted moisturizer or bb cream first if you feel like you need some coverage.

Does anyone have suggestions on a good drugstore contour or bronzer? I'm pretty tan (especailly now that it's summer) and I feel like when I get one at the store it's super dark but when I put it on my face, I don't see a difference.
Sidenote: I really like Laura lee. She just has a funny sense of humor and we have very similar skin tones so that's helpful with shades and highlights. She also taught me what a transition shade was which has upped my eye look lol

I wasn't allowed to wear makeup until I was 15 which at the time I hated, but now I am so glad and will probably tell my daughter the same. I didn't wear foundation until I was probably 18 or 19 and now I only use foundation for a special event (I'm 23). I stick to a nice bb cream especially during summer.

Wow! Thanks for the tips you guys! My grandma took me a a couple weekends ago to a palais royal and like yall said there was a lady there and she helped pick my shades and everything and put it on me while teaching me what to do (like she would do something and say "here you try it now to see if you got it" and let me try) lol I still have a lot of learning to do and I am not allowed to wear much and because I'm 15 I'm only allowed to wear more basic stuff like just some concealer, powder, eyeshadow, mascara, and lipstick all in natural colors and when I asked the lady about my eyebrows she told me They already have a good shape and warned me not to pluck them too much because I'll regret it when I'm older *cough* COLLEEN *cough* and so she filled them in for me and they looked like centipedes and I said no haha I already have thicker eyebrows so I domt really need them filled in or anything (I went home afterwards with my makeup still on and my brother said "WOW! What happened to your eyebrows?! They look like fluffy caterpillars!" 😂 So I took that as my answer) so she told me to use maybellinnes transparent brow mascara and she did give me a moisturizer to use and a face wash to use as well. I haven't really used it myself yet because I've just been pretty lazy but I can do just about everything myself except eyeshadow stuff...I'm gonna have to work on that.

ALSO if you're bored just take off your makeup in front of your brother or boyfriend or husband...their reaction can be priceless! 😂

If you're near anywhere that sells ELF products (Walmart/heb) they have a clear eyebrow gel and mascara for like $2 that I swear by. Just brush your eyebrows and apply a thin coat so they kind of freeze that way and for me I use that mascara because I hate ending up with raccoon eyes. I just blow dry my eyelash curler for a couple of seconds, curl my lashes, and apply the clear mascara part. (I've got long eyelashes already so it works)

Oh, yes! neutral colors are all you need, especially at 15. I wasn't allowed to wear crazy stuff in High School either. (Does anyone remember maybelline "shimmering sands" eyeshadow? they may still have it in drugstores but that was my go to shadow in high school.) I feel you on the eyebrows! I have very dark hair and my eyebrows aren't super crazy but they really don't need to be filled in much. Once I tried to fill them in with shadow because every beauty guru was doing it, so I thought I was missing the boat and I'll never forget the look my boss gave me when I walked into work that day. I will NEVER do that again haha! unless my eyebrows start to thin out or something). The most I'll do is a light pencil if needed.

Just chiming in to remind everyone to moisturizer their skin 💕✨ your skin becomes oily because it is trying to overcompensate for the lack of moisture, so even if you're greasy you still need to moisturize! My skin is garbagio lately but it's because I ran out of face lotion a bit ago. MOISTURIZE. Also a tea tree oil mask every once in a while does wonders 💕 Super cheap at Walmart. Alright ladies and or gents, that's all I've got for now until I actually catch up

If anyone wants recommendations for mid to higher end products let me know ✨ I'm not very well versed on drug store products as my mother has raised me to be a poosty bitch when it comes to makeup so I easily have hundreds of dollars of makeup in my bathroom alone 😧 Sorry I can't be super relatable like the Queent herself

Foundation recommendations please!!! Medium to full coverage HONESTLY I use Maybelline's Fit Me Matte and Poreless. That's like the one thing I'm not picky about 😂 Cause I rarely wear it. Perfect for dressing down or dressing up. Very light but still gives things an even tone. BUT if I'm doing drag makeup I use Kat Von D's Lock It Longwear foundation. That shit makes your face like a blank sheet of skin, it's cakey as fuck but for performance makeup it's the bomb

Which is very much like a foundation and you don't really need that much product to get good coverage. If you use too much it's really cakey though.

I wasn't sure about it at first because it's summer and I'm not used to a full coverage creme but I feel like you can go light handed with this and it ends up being a nice medium coverage too.

I don't have psoriasis or anything so my skin care routine is pretty basic. I wash my face with the squeaky clean tea tree scrub from the body shop, and I use a moisturiser (the brand is called Simple, I just get it from Coles). I also use the Drops of Youth range from the body shop, at night before I go to bed. Its meant to help with wrinkles, which is necessary for us grannies 😜👌 lol.

Which oil do you use? (just out of curiousity) Just a general FYI though--natural oils can be amazing for your skin, but they all have different properties and caustic levels. Tea tree oil is great, but you have to be really careful--that shit wil defintely dry out your skin. I have blended mine with jojoba oil, witch hazel, and occasionally avocado oil. I use grapeseed oil sometimes. Anyone have any oils they use in their hair? My ends are always busted, and always have been, whether or not I color my hair, cut it regularly, let it air dry, etc--I just have textured, cranky hair. My hair stylist has suggested avocado or coconut, and to leave it in and let your hair absorb it, but...coconut oil seems too heavy, and I keep forgetting to buy some avocado oil, haha. Just was wondering if anyone else used them in their hair.

It's seriously been a miracle worker, everything else i tried just made my face worse and worse! I use garnier hair repair on my hair. I'm lucky i have really nice thick hair so i don't have to do too much with it!

I don't have psoriasis but I do have excema and cetaphyl is one of the best products I've found for it. I'm not sure if it's a brand y'all have in AU but if you do, it might be helpful. They have face wash, moisturizer, and body lotion/wash too. Aside from that, I also love Mario badescu products!
