The makeup thing, I think if Chris had ended his comment with "You look so grown up!" (which he did say) and not continued on with "like a woman" he would be fine. I can see the play make up / make over thing. If they had just gone to their grandparent's, ok. But they were out in public at the Elks event. Maybe we're being bitch eating crackers over this. It might not annoy so much if every other thing they did wasn't annoying. (But I would not let my kid go out in full makeup and she's 11. When she's 13 she'll probably start if she wants, and I will help her all she likes. Right now she can play with it at home only.

Ahhh, they don't care what they do as long as it gets views Yeah their vlogs are more and more fake to me. The Fourth of July gifts just seemed engineered to generate content for their vlog.

Colleen's 4th of July looked like a bit of a bust, anyone think she'll play the "I was having so much fun I forgot to vlog" card to hide her shame?

Is fourth of July gifts a thing? I mean, I buy my kids a Canada Day t-shirt every year and their Grandma bought them a flag from the dollar store. Presenting the clothes in gift bags made a much bigger deal of it than I would.

No gifts aren't really a thing for the Fourth of July. People usually just buy fireworks and stuff but I am sure people probably do them.

Presenting the clothes in gift bags made a much bigger deal of it than I would. They seem to really into making EVERYTHING a thing. Like they can't do something simple without making it into some huge, showy, production. I guess they want to create memories and makes moments, but dammit, not everything has to be a moment.

If getting gifts is a 4th of July thing, getting clothes as a gift blows. Bitch eating crackers...LOL. GUILTY! Thanks for the makeup talk. And, yeah, I agree. The "woman" comment from Chris was creepy to me. They objectify those kids enough.

Colleen has been pretty quiet on the social medes today. Maybe Erik promised to spend the whole day with her if she didn't make him spend time with her damn family.

In their last vlog, Chris and Jessica kept saying they were going to 'grandma's house'. Isn't it 'grandpa's house' too? Did Divorce Gwen get Tim's name out of the papers? (JK. Sort of. It's not easy to pass time while waiting for Erik's leg to show up in someone's vlog).

Yeah I don't think the makeover thing in theory is a big deal. However two points.
Chris' reaction of oh you're beautiful you're a princess how do you feel you're a grown-up woman etc etc seemed creepy and forced for the camera.
I don't think letting your 9 year old put on makeup for a holiday is a big deal, but like some eyeshadow and lipstick. She had mascara, her eyebrows pencilled in, everything. It was an excessive amount of makeup for a child. I've only seen that on pageant kids which are creepy too, or dancers so they aren't washed out on stage, though even that I find weird when I see it, but that at least makes more sense.

I was just about to say the same thing, the interaction with Chris and Bailey seemed to be super forced for the camera. I could see putting on eyeshadow and lip gloss, but not the whole face, and everyone gushing about it only promotes body dysmorphia and societal beauty ideals. I don't think it's an everyday thing though - although I could see Jess wanting her to be a kid beauty guru, gotta get them views - she barely brushes her hair on most days. Today's vlog seemed especially fake and ingenuine.

The one where she's wearing a donut shirt looks identical they 1000% used that as reference, look at her hair strands on the left and right and the way her bangs are.. it matches completely loll

The makeup thing bugged me a lot. I wasn't allowed to wear make up outside the house until the summer before I turned 13, and my mom made me get a professional makeover first so I would know how to handle everything. It was almost all natural colors It's funny how much I would love one now, but back then I hated the idea.
That look is too mature for a 9 year old.

Today's vlog seemed especially fake and ingenuine. I really don't think Bailey wearing make up out once is a big deal. She's a kid, I think the adult connotations behind it are much more problematic than some little kid wearing make up because her mum does and she thinks it's pretty. I think the issue is that Jessica did SUCH a bad job it stands out like a sore thumb. the make up itself doesn't suit bailey (the girl is obviously more pastel/pink) so she looks like she belongs in lolita or something. And i totes agree. Chris's comments were weeirrrddd. Bailey seemed uncomfortable by it tbh. he literally could have said "wow you look pretty!" and not made it weird. but no. christopher is a fucking arsehole and has to make every situation weirder

little girls shouldn't be worried about makeup at all, it sucks that women in general feel they have to always wear makeup but i'll spare you all a feminist rant lmao.. if it was just fun exaggerated dressup for the 4th like others have said then that's fine but hopefully it doesn't turn into a regular thing.

Yeesh, I just tried to watch the vlog with Bailey's makeover, and I made it about two seconds into Chris giving his opinion and had to turn it off.

Just wait til Bailey hits puberty, then there will be creepy clickbait like "13 year old gets first bra!" with a thumbnail of her in just her underwear, or " teenage girl gets first period" and upclose zooms by Chris of Bailey on the toilet figuring out how to work a tampon, and plenty of other grossly inappropriate content that these shameless fucktards will cash in on $$$$$
Poor Bailey she's so sweet she'd go along with that fucking insane batshit crazy violation, what daddy wants for the video daddy gets right? or the single pretzel for lunch gets taken away and Bailey gets the hose

It wasn't just Colleen's photo that got defaced on the mural . 2:07 . What a shame ppl do stuff like that. Also kinda messed up Matt had to stay at Rachel's parents house to babysit dogs and couldn't go to the fireworks. 1:36 . Matt should run now.

Unlike Colleen. The first date thing I can totally see, but she'll probably be older before they let her date. I feel sorry for Bailey, I can see her totally being a little mother and doing everything in a few years.

Not to be a party pooper, but I think all the Bailey exploitation talk is getting a bit out of hand. I think the extent of the makeover was a bit much (that kid seriously doesn't need any added eyebrow) but I don't have a problem with letting your kid fancy up a bit for a holiday around family. It's obviously not a daily thing. But to equate letting her wear some make up, to recording her in the process of getting her first period crosses a line for me. Yeah, they over share. But that's predatory, and I don't think it should even be joked about.
