I feel like Josh was being a little bit dramatic with the "could have started our family" part. It's not like they were ever actively trying to get pregnant. I don't know what they were doing for birth control but if they were sexually active for years with only one pregnancy scare they were probably doing something. It's not as if every time they had sex Josh thought they could make a baby. He's like "That could been our baby!" But it wasn't. It never was.
But yes, Colleen exploiting her pregnancy scare for views and reducing her ex-husband to some guy she was in a relationship with is really shitty.

If we've got the timeline right and it happened just after the honeymoon,  there is a good chance she was in negotiations with Netflix at the time. When she did announce HBO she admitted that she and Chris had been talking with Netflix for at least a year before the announcement.

Josh is making it seem like thinking you're pregnant and learning you're not and losing a pregnancy are one and the same. I understand that he really wanted a family and was probably super stoked on the idea of Colleen being pregnant, but it was just a scare, man.

No I don't think they were trying - why would she have not already been thinking pregnancy if that were the case (especially if she was 2 weeks late on her period)? She said her mom was the one who alerted her that she might be pregnant. Of course that could be a lie.

I don't think it's the actual fact of what happened that's bothering him so much. It's the fact that it was an intimate, emotional thing for him/them and she's just blasting it out in public for views and acting like nobody else is affected by it. And she's said this whole time she's not talking about the divorce because it affects people other than her... so hypocritical.

In her video, she said she wasn't on birth control.

I agree, they seemed like they wanted to just be married for a while before starting a family so I have trouble believing they were actively trying to get pregnant.  And I also agree with you that, if her story is mostly true, it sounds like he's blowing it out of proportion (the "starting a family" part). Maybe her missing her period got his hopes up, but if her periods aren't regular I would even wonder if her body could support a fetus.

I have heard of people who weren't trying to have a baby but then thought there might be an unexpected pregnancy and were surprised at how excited and hopeful they were and were completely devastated to find out it wasn't the case. It does happen.

Usually in those cases, they then decide to try having one.

And I suspect that's probably the direction it led Josh... but not Colleen. Devastating in two ways.

I looked back to see if I could find the video where she collapsed and she was very thin back then, possibly thinner than she is now so I'm pretty sure her weight would have affected her ability to get pregnant!
